Gecko-6's Extra Reading List

November:

Comrade J: The Untold Secrets of Russia's Master Spy in America After the End of the Cold War, by Pete Earley. Confirmation that Russia isn't really our friend. Because I told you so.

September/October:

The New American Militarism: How Americans are Seduced by War, by Andrew J. Bacevich. Easy read. Bacevich's apparently well-researched arguments are a decent companion read to Clausewitz, even though he complains a lot without offering many solutions to what he perceives as a crisis of American conscience. I do like what he writes about American militarism being pervasively (or perhaps perversely) linked to the evangelical beliefs in the so-called "end times."
